Ian Day Appointed Associate Vice Chancellor For Enrollment

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs Mohammad Karim announced the appointment of Ian Day as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment, a role he has been serving in since September 2013.

Previously, Day served as Director of Athletics since 2007, overseeing 25 UMass Dartmouth varsity sports with more than 500 student-athletes, as well as growing intramural, recreational and instructional programs and the Campus Fitness Center.  He joined the University following a distinguished career at Tiffin University (Ohio) where he served as Vice President for Campus Services, Director of Athletics, Head Soccer Coach and Director of Admissions.

During his nine months as Associate Vice Chancellor, Ian has led efforts to streamline and accelerate the new student application process, enhance the new student recruitment and outreach plan, and improve our merit financial aid decision-making process, as well as having achieved a significant increase in the yield of accepted freshmen, with deposits up from 22.4% to 25.8%. We fully expect these efforts to result in a strong Class of 2018 joining us in the fall. An aggressive program to recruit a highly talented 2019 class is already underway.
