UMass Dartmouth Intramurals 2011-2012

Volleyball

Intramural Volleyball will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 9-11pm in the Tripp Athletic Center Gymnasium. Come in athletic wear. Games are to 15, and rally points are played throughout the night until we are out of time. Please understand that teams are made up on the spot each night, so you can come whenever you can make it, without a pre-made team. All levels of players are welcome. We make new teams each night, so there is no long-term commitment. If you are interested please join their group on www.Facebook.com ("Intramural Volleyball"). This is where new information on tournaments is posted and updated and we let you know when the times change due to the basketball season and any other possible factors. Intramural Volleyball is meant to provide a fun and relaxed environment for people who love playing volleyball. Once a year, at the end of the spring season, we hold a one-night tournament with teams of 6-7 people. Winners get ''Intramural Champion" t-shirts. If you have any questions please contact Elton DaGraca (774)-526-4049, or Tony Fontes (508)-215-7668. Thanks.

Supervisor Interviews (from 2009-2010) NEW ONES WILL COME SOON!!

Even though it is just an intramural sport UMD Intramural Volleyball still comes will all the intensity of collegiate volleyball. At the same time the two supervisors stress sportsmanship, which is important when playing any sport. After talking with the supervisors it is clear that Intramural Volleyball is going very, very well. They have a large number of participants and continue to get more and more every week. The only downside to that is they feel that they are running out of room to fit all the players. Now how did they get all these participants? Well they put posters throughout campus and told the participants from last to help spread the word. Now when I asked them about possible means of improvement they both stressed the need for net repairs. Apparently the nets are barely holding and they fear that just might keep breaking.
