PORTSMOUTH, RI- The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth finished third at the Roger Williams Intercollegiate Horse Show Association competition on Saturday.
"It was a great weekend, we were third out of eight teams, and missed first place by only seven points," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Mary Charette. "Starting off the day, freshman Leah Bouch won her Intermediate over Fences and Intermediate on the flat, which put her in a three- way tie for High Point Rider of the Day, which she won in a ride off. Kathryn Gardner was third in Novice over Fences and second in Novice Flat. Freshmen Colleen Waclawik and Elaina Hoeppner were first and fourth, respectively, in Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter. Lauryn Mort was first in Beginner Walk/Trot/Canter, and Jacklyn Reis and Natalie Fernberg were second and fourth, respectively in the Walk Trot Division."
The Corsairs will compete at a meet hosted by Becker in Paxton, MA this Saturday.
