NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA - The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth equestrian team competed at two separate events this past weekend. On Saturday the team competed in Hebron, CT, at a show sponsored by Holy Cross and on Sunday it traveled to a show held by Johnson & Wales University at Rehoboth, MA.
Freshman Leah Bouch (Portsmouth, MA/Portsmouth) captured first place in Intermediate on the flat and took second over fences at Saturday's show. Bouch's finish in these two events sent her into a ride off with six other riders for the title of Reserve High Point Rider. The first-year rider took home the honor and also qualified for regionals on the flat with a first-place ribbon.
Junior team captain Kathryn Gardner (Concord, MA/Concord Carlisle) won second in her flat class to also qualify for regionals.
