Corsairs Finish in Fourth at Johnson and Wales IHSA Show

REHOBOTH, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth equestrian team finished in fourth place at the Johnson and Wales University IHSA show on Sunday.

Sophomore Alexandra Koury (Holden, Mass.) defeated the field and qualified for regionals in the advanced walk trot canter class. Sophomore Colleen Waclawik (Millis, Mass.) took top honors in her novice flat class and placed fourth in her novice over fences class, while junior Rachel Pacheco (Fall River, Mass.) finished the day sixth in novice on the flat.

Freshman Sarah Kieran (Plympton, Mass) placed second in her open flat class and fourth in her open over fences. Senior co-captain Kathryn Gardner (Concord, Mass.) took home third in her intermediate flat class, while junior co-captain Sarah Murray (Sharon, Mass.) placed fifth in advanced walk trot canter. Freshman Kira Hallberg (Foxboro, Mass.) finished fourth in the walk trot division, respectively.

The Equestrian Team returns to action on Saturday, March 22, for their last regular season show at Mystic Valley Hunt Club in Gales Ferry, Conn.
