Sailing Performs Consistently at Roger Williams
BRISTOL, RI-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's sailing team turned in a consistent performance on the second and final day of their season-opening meet at Roger Williams Sunday.
"In a strong field of U.S. and Canadian collegiate teams, UMass-Dartmouth trailed the field, while turning in consistent performances over the two day event," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Jerry Jennings. "Competing in the FJ Class for the first time, our team held their own in all races. Captains Michelle Guidotti
(Sr. West Hartford, CT/Conard HS) and Shawna Denn
(Sr. Dracut, MA/Greater Lowell Tech HS) managed an 11th place finish in a 16-team field in an "A" division contest. As a women's team, we competed well against mostly ranked co-ed teams. I'm very proud of our kids for hanging in against overwhelmingly talented competition."
The Corsairs will compete at Dartmouth College in two weeks.
