NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's baseball team has been picked to finish in seventh place in the Little East Conference this spring.

The Corsairs, who tied for second in the LEC last season, received 19 points in the conference's annual pre-season coaches' poll. Eastern Connecticut State, which finished first last year, was picked to repeat, with four first-place votes and 58 points. Keene State was picked to finish second with one first place vote and 55 points. Rhode Island College, which won the LEC Tournament last year, was picked third with 48 points and two first place votes, while Southern Maine and UMass Boston each received 36 votes and tied for fourth, with USM receiving the other first place vote. Western Connecticut State received 26 votes and was picked sixth, while Plymouth State got nine votes and was picked eighth.

"Polls are a product of the previous year's team, we look forward to gaining our respect on the field," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Bob Prince. "It's all about where you finish, not where you start."

The Corsairs will open their 2012 season tomorrow afternoon, Tuesday, March 13th at Eastern Nazarene.
