    24 Corsairs Earn LEC Academic Honors The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth has placed 24 student-athletes on the 2012-13 Little East Conference Spring All-Academic Team. The team includes student-athletes who competed on teams during the spring season, and were sophomores or better with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or better. The team included student-athletes in the spring sports sponsored by the LEC.

Senior catcher Matt Worden (New Bedford, MA/New Bedford HS) and sophomore center fielder Ryan Medeiros (Acushnet, MA/New Bedford HS/Eckerd) have been named second team All-Conference.

    Baseball Falls Just Short at LEC Tournament The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth baseball team fell just short at the Little East Conference Tournament at the University of Southern Maine Baseball Stadium Saturday. After finishing off a suspended game, a 21-5 win, against UMass Boston Saturday morning, the Corsairs defeated Eastern Connecticut State, 7-6, to advance to the finals before falling to the host Huskies, 4-2, in the championship round.

The game was finished Saturday morning after being suspended in the top of the eighth inning because of darkness Friday evening.

The Corsairs clinched a post-season berth when they earned a split of their doubleheader against host Southern Maine by winning the second game, 9-4, at the USM Baseball Stadium Friday. The Huskies took the opener, 16-3 in seven innings.
