Baseball Blanked by Endicott, 18-0

AUBURNDALE, FL - The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth baseball team dropped an 18-0 decision to Endicott at the RussMatt Tournament at Lake Myrtle Field #4 Sunday.

The Corsairs were limited to a single hit, a double by sophomore shortstop Nate Farias (Fall River, MA/Durfee HS) in the third inning. The Gulls took an early lead and took advantage of seven UMD errors.

"We didn't play well," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Bob Prince. "We gave up a lot of walks, we gave them extra base runners, and they took advantage of all the opportunities that we gave them. We couldn't figure out their pitcher at the plate. When you don't execute against a good team, you don't win. They got up early and kept the pressure on us, and we never responded."

UMass Dartmouth dropped to 1-3 with the defeat, while Endicott improved to 2-0 with the victory. The Corsairs will return to action when they play Amherst Monday. Endicott will play Framingham State Monday.
