AMHERST, MA-Senior guard Reece Freeman of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's basketball team has been honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Freeman has been named second team All-Northeast District by the NABC.
Freeman, who earned first team All-Little East Conference honors and was named to the LEC All-Defensive Team, led the LEC in assists and was 22nd nationally at 6.0 per game, and was also second in the conference steals (25th in the nation, 2.6 per game). Freeman was also first in assist to turnover ratio (3.8), a statistic in which he led the nation.
"Reece has had a great career," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Brian Baptiste. "His senior year was his best season overall. Reece was the catalyst for both our offense and our defense, and he was the guy who made us go."
UMass Dartmouth finished at 27-4, won the Little East Conference Tournament, and advanced to the round of 16 in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
