NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-Senior center Lance Greene (Dorchester, MA/Charlestown HS/UMass Lowell) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's basketball team has again been honored by the Little East Conference.
Greene has been named LEC Men's Basketball Player of the Week. It's the second time this season that he's won the award.
In three games last week, Greene averaged 16.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, nearly a double double. He made 17 of 30 shots from the field for 56.7 per cent. In Saturday's game against Plymouth State, Greene scored 25 points, one short of his career high, while grabbing 15 rebounds and blocking six shots. He currently leads UMass Dartmouth with 16.9 points and 11.7 rebounds per game.
"It's fantastic, Lance is doing a great job rebounding the basketball and scoring inside," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Brian Baptiste. "He also had six blocked shots in the last game. He's playing outstanding basketball for us."
The Corsairs are 6-3 and will conclude first semester action when they host Johnson & Wales tomorrow evening.
