UMass Dartmouth freshman running back Steffan Gravely was named as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Rookie of the Week on Sunday afternoon following his performance in the Corsairs’ 49-21 season-opening victory at Alfred State yesterday.
Gravely, a native of Lynn, Mass. and a graduate of Lynn Technical High School, rushed 12 times for 84 yards and scored his first collegiate touchdown from 12 yards out early in the second quarter. Steffan added four receptions for 24 yards to finish with 108 all-purpose yards for Head Coach Mark Robichaud’s squad, which has won three straight overall dating back to last November.
UMass Dartmouth hosts 17th-ranked Delaware Valley in its home opener on Saturday afternoon at Cressy Field beginning at Noon EDT.
