Now in his eighth season on the Corsair sideline, John Regan is
entering his second season as the outside linebacker coach.
The 2007 UMass Dartmouth graduate previously served as the
defensive line coach for six campaigns since joining the
Regan has overseen the development of four All-Conference
players. Last season, Joe Teixera made his debut on the
All-MASCAC, first-team after earning All-NEFC, second-team honors
as a sophomore and freshman. Teixera was sixth in the
conference circuit in tackles for a loss (14), while ranking ninth
in tackles per game (7.0). In 2012, Jordan McDonald joined
Teixera on the All-NEFC, second-team as a defensive lineman
An excellent student-athlete at UMass Dartmouth, Regan played four years for the Corsairs between 2003 and 2006. During his time in North Dartmouth, UMass Dartmouth posted an overall record of 26-15 and advanced to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Bowl Championship in 2003 and 2004. The 2003 squad captured the program’s only ECAC Championship, defeating Worcester State 21-7.
In 34 career games, Regan registered 70 total tackles, three sacks, one forced fumble, and one pass breakup. As a senior, he led the Corsairs in tackles for a loss (9.5) and sacks (3), while ranking fifth on the team in total tackles (42). Regan was named to the 2006 New England Football Conference All-Academic Team.
The Hyde Park, Mass. native completed his master’s degree from UMass Dartmouth in 2010.
