SPRINGFIELD, MA - The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's golf team shot a team score of 317 and finished fourth at the 11-team Western New England Invitational at the par-72 Veterans Golf Course Thursday.
Endicott finished first with a team score of 309. The Corsairs finished one stroke ahead of fifth-place Springfield.
For UMass Dartmouth, junior Brendan Kelleher (Hopedale, MA/Hopedale HS) and senior Kevin Rewinski (Springfield, MA/Springfield HS) each came in at 77, senior Matt Connolly (Lynnfield, MA/Lynnfield HS) shot a 79, junior Brandon Oldham (Mattapoisett, MA/Old Rochester Regional HS) finished at 84 and junior Pete Danko (Norton, MA/Norton HS/UMass) came in at 85.
"We played pretty well," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Joel Baptista. "We got solid rounds form Kevin Rewinski and Brendan Kelleher. Kevin is from the Springfield area, and it's nice to see him go out on a high note at his last collegiate match at Veterans. I was a bit disappointed with the fourth place finish. We'll get back to it this weekend at the Johnson & Wales Invitational, where we will be playing for the Spring Series Cup."
The Corsairs will compete at the Johnson & Wales Invitational this Saturday and Sunday.
