BANGOR, Maine – Sophomore Jackson Mitchell (Marion, Mass.) tied for the tournament crown on Sunday, shooting a cumulative two-day score of 147 at the Husson Invitational to pace UMass Dartmouth Golf to a third-place team finish for the weekend at Bangor Municipal Golf Course.

How it Happened
After sitting in third following Saturday's first round, the Corsairs held place, improving on their team score by five strokes on Sunday and wrapping up a score of 619. Mitchell took a share of the title thanks to his round of 71 on Sunday, the lowest in the field of 47 golfers, after registering a 76 on Round One. Earning the other low total of 147 was Husson's Taylor Morang, who posted a 74 on Saturday and 73 on Sunday.
Tying for 14th overall was junior Bryce Mitchell (Beverly, Mass.), who put forth UMass Dartmouth's lowest round on Saturday at 75. He finished on Sunday with a round of 81, accumulating a total score of 156. Wrapping up the Corsairs' top-three was junior Jared Fadding (Lenox, Mass.), shooting a weekend score of 159 to tie at 21st place.

- Jackson Mitchell's round of 71 on Sunday was just two strokes over the course par of 69, and the course played at 6,187 yards.
- Mitchell's second-round score was the lowest on his two-year Corsair career, and Sunday marked his first career individual tournament title.
- UMass Dartmouth's team score of 619 is the lowest on a two-round tournament for the Corsairs since they placed third at the Southern Maine Classic with a score of 608 on Oct. 6, 2014.
- Husson's A-team won their own event, scoring in at 601, while Endicott took second with a score of 606.
The Corsairs will have next weekend off and return to the course on Sunday, Oct. 9 at the Gorham Country Club for the Southern Maine Invitational.
