The Corsairs finished seven shots behind first place Providence and three shots behind second place Babson, Trailing UMD were host RIC at 659, Wentworth at 653 and Suffolk at 735.
For the Corsairs, junior Scott Woodacre (Westborough, MA/Westborough HS) led the Corsairs with a score of 79 for a total of 159 and a tie for fourth place on the par 72 course. "Needless to say, we had a tougher time without our number two player, but we did a tremendous job," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Joel Baptista. "Matt Brown stepped up and improved his score by eight strokes, Scott Woodacre started with an eight on the first hole and was three over the rest of the round, and Conor O'Malley was consistent.. I was pleased with our performance, considering that we only had four practices. We are hoping for good weather this week, so we can get in some good rounds and have a good showing next week in our home tournament."
The Corsairs will return to action when they host the Hampton Inn Invitational next weekend.
