SPRINGFIELD, MA-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's golf team finished sixth at the 10-team Western New England Invitational at the Thursday.
The Corsairs shot a team score of 326, placing them one stroke behind Franklin Pierce, and two strokes ahead of Springfield. Nichols finished first at 308, Salem State was next at 310, Tufts shot 316, and Babson scored 321. Following Springfield were host Western New England at 334, and Westfield State at 345. Elms did not finish.
Individually, senior Rob Leaver (Lakeville, MA/Apponequet HS) shot a 79 and tied for 11th, freshman Joe Connor (Lakeville, MA/Apponequet HS) came in at 80 and tied for 15th, senior John Ripp (Bolton, CT/East Catholic HS) shot an 83 and tied for 23rd, junior Scott Woodacre (Westborough, MA/Westborough HS) scored 84 and tied for 26th, and freshman Nick Jagoe (Westport, MA/Westport HS) came in at 85 and tied for 31st.
The Corsairs will return to action at the Johnson & Wales Invitational this weekend.
