Chris Gorovitz scored a power play goal at 17:52 of the second period before sophomore forward Rob Dudley (Douglas, MA/Middlesex School) put the Corsairs on the board when he scored with 31 seconds remaining in the second period. Diozzi scored an unassisted goal at 16:13 of the third period to make it 3-1, then wrapped up the scoring with an empty net goal with 28 seconds remaining.
"We played better than we did against Worcester State and Plymouth State," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach John Rolli. "We made a couple of bad decisions with the puck. We had some chances, but we didn't score on the power play."
The Corsairs out shot Stonehill, 38-18. Skyhawk goaltender Tyler Jackson made 37 saves, while Tracy was credited with 14. UMass Dartmouth was blanked on four power play chances, and killed of five of six opportunities for Stonehill.
UMD is now 3-4-1 and 0-3-1 in the MASCAC, while Stonehill is 6-6-0 and 0-0-0 in the Northeast 10. The Corsairs will return to action when they host Framingham State Thursday evening.
