BUZZARDS BAY, MA- Senior goaltender Collin Tracy (Medford, MA/Medford HS) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's hockey team has been honored by the Massachusetts Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Tracy has been named MASCAC Goaltender of the Week. It's the fourth such honor for Tracy this season.
Tracy stopped 55 of 58 shots as the Corsairs went 2-0 last week and clinched first place in the MASCAC regular season standings and the top seed in this week's conference playoffs. He posted a goals-against average of 1.50 and a save percentage of .948, stopping 32 of 33 shots in last Saturday's 4-1 win at Fitchburg State after making 23 saves in UMD's 3-2 victory at Framingham State.
"Collin Tracy has been the top goaltender in our league this season, and arguably the player of the year," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach John Rolli. "He leads the conference in goals against average (2.07) and winning percentage (18-6-1, 750), and is second in save percentage (.926). He has clearly been the main reason our team is the MASCAC regular season champion, and the number one seed in the upcoming conference playoffs."
The Corsairs will return to action when they host either Fitchburg State or Worcester State in a MASCAC semi-final playoff game Thursday evening.
