Junior attackman Josh Arsenault (Revere, MA/Malden Catholic HS) and senior attackman Andrew Foster (Danvers, MA/Danvers HS) each scored twice for UMass Dartmouth. Jette had four goals for the Owls, while LeSage and freshman midfielder Ian Hart (Richmond, NH/Monadnock Regional HS) each nadded three.
"Keene State was a better team than we were," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Kevin Mahoney. "They're a pretty impressive team. They have talent across the board, some people who are really talented, and a great freshman goalie. They're one of the top teams in the conference. We were outplayed, and we kind of were in awe and watched them in the first quarter, and we weren't able to recover. I wish we had given them a better game. Now, we've got a week to get ready for UMass Boston."
The Owls out shot the Corsairs, 41-30. Sophomore goaltender Cameron Crown (Wlpole, MA/Walpole HS) made 14 saves for UMass Dartmouth, while freshman Jason Lesser (Brewster, NY/Brewster HS) made 16 for KSC. UMD failed to convert either of their man-up opportunities, while KSC was one for four.
UMD dropped to 4-5 and 0-1 in the Little East Conference with the defeat, while Keene State improved to 4-5 and 1-0 in the LEC with the victory. The Corsairs will return to action when they visit UMass Boston next Saturday. The Owls will host Salem State next Saturday. .
