He made 16 saves Saturday when UMD fell at Western Connecticut in sudden death overtime.

"Nick Thayer is improving every game, and he has the skills to be a top goalie in the league," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Kevin Mahoney. "He is becoming more vocal and is becoming a leader as a freshman. He played great against Eastern Connecticut and Western Connecticut, he's been a great teammate and a model student-athlete, and I'm excited about the possibility of having him here for the next three years,"

The Corsairs are 11-3 overall and 3-2 in the Little East Conference and will return to action when they host Salem State Wednesday evening.
