Men's Soccer Set For Rigorous 17-Match Slate In Almeida's 11th Season

While the excitement of the World Cup is slowly fading from the sports landscape, the same can’t be said at UMass Dartmouth where veteran Head Coach Henry Almeida is preparing the Corsairs for another rigorous 17-match schedule this fall.

Almeida, the winningest coach in the program’s 42-year history, will see his squad kickoff his 11th season at the helm on Friday, August 31st with a non-league encounter at Framingham State that begins at Noon EDT.  UMass Dartmouth will play five of its first seven matches away from the friendly confines of Cressy Field, as the Corsairs will host Salve Regina in their home opener on Wednesday, September 12th at 7:00 pm EDT.

Almeida’s crew will also entertain Bridgewater State, Coast Guard and Newbury in home non-league outings, as the Corsairs will host Eastern Connecticut, UMass Boston, Rhode Island College and Southern Maine in Little East Conference clashes.  UMass Dartmouth will venture to WPI, MIT, Salem State and Massachusetts Maritime in non-league action and will head to Plymouth State, Keene State, Castleton and Western Connecticut for Little East contests.
