NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-A member of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's soccer team has earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America post-season honors.
Sophomore midfielder Victor Ferreira (St. Michael, Portugal/New Bedford HS) has been named second team NCAA Division III All-New England South Region. He was one of 52 players earning All-New England Region honors. It was the second year in a row that Ferreira received such honors.
Ferreira was second among Corsairs in scoring with seven goals and seven assists for 21 points. He was recently named first team All-Little East Conference for the second year in a row.
"It's a great honor, and a great accomplishment," said UMass Dartmouth Assistant Coach Alex Bettencourt. "It's also a great accomplishment for his teammates, because when someone is recognized individually, it is also a reflection on the rest of their team. He was recognized last year, and it's great to see him honored again. He works hard, is a good student and his efforts on and off the field have paid off. He is always striving to get better."
The Corsairs finished 11-7-1 and advanced to the semi-finals of the LEC Tournament.
