Aug. 24, 2010

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA- The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Men's Soccer Team has been picked fourth in the annual Little East Conference pre-season poll.

The Corsairs received 40 points, 12 points behind third-place Rhode Island College and 14 in back of Eastern Connecticut State and Keene State, which tied for first. Plymouth State was picked to finish fifth, 10 points behind UMD, with Southern Maine, Western Connecticut State and UMass Boston ranked sixth through eighth.

"I feel that the pre-season vote pretty much went as expected," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Henry Almeida. "The Little East is a very competitive conference, and anyone can beat anyone else at any point in the season."

UMass Dartmouth finished 10-7-2 overall and 4-3-1 in the Little East Conference last year, placing fourth and advancing to the LEC championship match. The Corsairs will begin their 2010 season September 4th when they host Salve Regina.
