Men's Swimming and Diving Competes at Colby-Sawyer

NEW LONDON, N.H.—The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's swimming and diving team competed against Colby-Sawyer College in a non-scoring meet on Friday evening.

The UMass Dartmouth 400 yard medley relay team of Bryan Baranick (Assonet, Mass.), Phil Lowney (Mattapoisett, Mass.), Michael Gryss (New Bedford, Mass.) and Grayham Ronan (Millis, Mass.) took first place with a time of 3:58.53. Ronan was also the top swimmer in the 50 yard butterfly (26.20) and the 100 yard individual medley (1:00.69).

In the 1650 yard freestyle event, Brian McCauley (Franklin, Mass.) was the only competitor and recorded a time of 20:13.54, while Gryss finished the 50 yard breaststroke event with a first place time of 29.55.

Conor Szarek (Leominster, Mass.) had no competition in the one meter diving event as he compiled a score of 211.80.

The Corsairs compete in the second day of the Colby-Sawyer Invitational tomorrow at noon.
