Three Finish in Top Ten at NEISDA Diving

WALTHAM, MA-All three members of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's swimming team finished in the top ten on the first day of action at the two-day, New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association Championships at Bentley's Dana Center Pool Saturday. One-meter competition was held Saturday, and three-meter competition is scheduled for Sunday.
For the women, sophomore Cecilia Rius (Rockville, MD/Richard Montgomery HS) placed seventh with a score of 319.15 points, and freshman Chelsea Hopkins-Pottle (Brockton, MA/Brockton HS) was 10th with 252.65 points. For the men, freshman Christian Francia (Hampton, NH/Winnacunnet HS) was sixth with 338.25 points.
"It was a very long day, and our divers all pulled through," said UMass Dartmouth Diving Coach Danielle Morley. "They were fantastic, all three of our divers did well." The competition will conclude Sunday.
