QUINCY, MA-Host Eastern Nazarene won all three doubles matches and went on to defeat the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's tennis team, 6-3, in a non-conference match at the Crusader Courts Wednesday afternoon.
Mike Chan and Matt Kauffman of ENC defeated UMass Dartmouth freshmen Trevor and Nolan Blier (Westport, MA/Westport HS, 9-8 at number two doubles, while junior Chris Forster (Reading, MA/Reading HS) and sophomore Ken Sims (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford HS) lost to Jack Sahlman and Tyler Restrick at number one doubles, 8-6.
Forster defeated Chan at number two singles, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2; Nolan Blier defeat Jordan Corbin at number six, 6-2, 6-0; and junior Alex Samoiloff (Princeton, MA/Princeton HS) downed Matt Kauffman at number five, 4-6, 6-3, (10-4).
The Corsairs dropped to 2-8 with the defeat, while the Crusaders improved to 6-13 with the victory. UMass Dartmouth will return to action when they visit Bridgewater State for the Little East Conference Championships this weekend.
