NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA - Freshman Brendan Jarousky (Attleboro, MA/Attleboro HS) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's track and field team has been honored by the Little East Conference.
Jarousky has been named LEC Men's Rookie Track Athlete of the Week.
At the Open New England Championships last weekend, Jarousky ran the third fastest time in UMass Dartmouth history in the 200-meter dash, placing 26th overall in 22.60 seconds. He also was a member of the 4 x 400 meter relay team that broke the school record with a time of 3:20.72.
"Brendan is closing out a really fine freshman indoor season," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Steve Gardiner. "He ran the third fastest indoor time in school history in the 200, and then led of our 4 x 4 relay, which turned in a school record performance in the relay."
The Corsairs will return to action this weekend at the Eastern College Athletic Conference championships.
