Louf-Woods Closes Out Career By Setting Pair Of RIC Invitational Records

PROVIDENCE, R.I. --  UMass Dartmouth three-time senior All-America Jared Louf-Woods (Salem, Mass.) closed out his stellar collegiate career by setting meet records in both the shot put and weight throw for the Corsair men’s indoor track & field team at the non-scoring Rhode Island College Invitational Saturday afternoon at the Providence Technical School.

Louf-Woods won the shot put by three-and-a-half meters over Rhode Island College senior Shamar Spruill, as he posted a mark of 16.33 meters/53 feet, 7 inches in the event.  Jared added the weight throw meet mark to his resume with a performance of 18.60 meters/61 feet, ¼ inch to win the event by a full meter over Spruill.

Last weekend, Louf-Woods set a school indoor record in the shot put (16.45 meters/53 feet, 11 ¾ inches) while posting a runner-up finish in the weight throw (17.97 meters/58 feet, 11 ½ inches) at the UMass Boston Indoor Open.  He is set to graduate later this month.
