NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth cross country teams join the top men's and women's runners in the Little East Conference and the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference for the 17th annual New England Alliance Cross Country Championship on Saturday November 02.
The competition will be held at the Narragansett School in Gorham, Maine with the women's race starting at 11:00 a.m. and the men's race beginning approximately an hour later.
The New England Alliance is comprised of a 12-team field with six schools from each conference. The Little East is represented by Eastern Connecticut State University, Keene State College, University of Massachusetts Boston, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Rhode Island College, and the University of Southern Maine. Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Westfield State University, and Worcester State University complete the MASCAC representation.
Senior Zach Switaj (Tamworth, N.H.) looks to continue his role as UMass Dartmouth's top runner. Switaj has finished first for the Corsairs over their past three meets, including a 10th place finish at the Bowdoin Invitational on September 28. On the women's side, freshman standout Jennifer Miranda (New Bedford, Mass.) has been the front runner for the lady Corsairs.
The final results and recap of the 2013 New England Alliance Championships will be posted on the Corsair's athletic website following the completion of competition.
