Oct. 13, 2009

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-For the third time this season, freshman Jeremy Francisco (Dartmouth, MA/Dartmouth HS) has been honored by the Little East Conference.

Once again, Francisco has been named LEC Rookie Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Freshman Jeremy Francisco (Dartmouth, MA/Darmouth HS) was the Corsairs' second runner at Saturday's James Earley Invitational at Westfield State. He finished 11th overall in the five mile race in 27:00 as UMass Dartmouth finished first overall.

"(Assistant coach) Deon (Barrett suggested that the team go out a little easy, because it's easy to get sucked up into a quick pace, which you can pay for later," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Jon Hird. "Jeremy was right up there. He did a good job, and it helped tighten up our gap from one to five, and it really tightened up our gap from one to three."

The Corsairs will return to action when they travel to the Albany Invitational this Saturday.
