    Two members of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth’s field hockey team have been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England Field Hockey All-Star Team. Senior defender Taryn Cardiel (Moorpark, CA/Moorpark HS) and senior midfielder Jenna Miedzionoski (Beverly, MA/Hamilton-Wenham Regional HS) were honored.
  • Cory Connolly Named to Division III All-Rookie Team

    Freshman forward Cory Connolly (Duxbury, MA/Duxbury HS) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth’s field hockey team has received another prestigious post-season honor. Connolly has been named to the 2012 NCAA Division III All-Rookie Team by Synapse Sports.

    Two members of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth’s field hockey team have been named second team All-New England West Region by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. Senior forward Erica Allan (Amherst, MA/Amherst HS) and senior defender Taryn Cardiel (Moorpark, CA/Moorpark HS) were honored.
  • Field Hockey Falls at Skidmore in NCAA Championships

    SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY-Host Skidmore scored four goals in the second half and pulled away for a 6-0 victory over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth’s field hockey team in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championships at Wagner Field Wednesday afternoon.
  • Eight Earn LEC Field Hockey Honors

    Eight members of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth’s field hockey team have been honored by the Little East Conference. Senior forward Erica Allan (Amherst, MA/Amherst HS), senior midfielder Jenna Miedzionowski (Beverly, MA/Hamilton-Wenham Regional HS) and senior defender Taryn Cardiel (Moorpark, CA/Moorpark HS) were named first team All-Little East Conference. Junior midfielder Devon Herlihy (Stratham, NH/Exeter HS), junior goalkeeper Lauren O'Brien (Rochester, MA/Old Rochester Regional HS) and freshman forward Cory Connolly (Duxbury, MA/Duxbury HS) earned second team All-Conference honors, while junior defender Victoria Dolce (Jamestown, RI/North Kingstown HS) was named third team All-LEC. Connolly was named Rookie of the Year, Cardiel was named Defensive Player of the Year, and Head Coach Nicole Castonguay was named Coach of the Year.
  • Field Hockey Opens NCAA Action Wednesday at Skidmore

    For the third time in four seasons, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's field hockey team is in the NCAA Division III Championships. The Corsairs will open tournament action when they visit Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY Wednesday afternoon. Face-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Wagner Park.

    The Little East Conference playoff schedule for the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth’s teams has been changed, due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy. The women’s soccer team and field hockey team, which were scheduled to begin their playoffs Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, will now begin action Wednesday and Thursday.

It’s the second such honor for Cardiel this season.
