Temple Mitchell Position: Assistant Coach

Temple Mitchell has been with the UMass Dartmouth field hockey team for four seasons as an assistant coach, resposible primarily for the goalies.

Prior to joining Head Coach Nicole Castonguay's coaching staff at UMass Dartmouth, she has been an active member of the Boston Field Hockey Umpires Association for 10 years. She had served as a field hockey officials working games for several local high school leagues.

Her field hockey playing experience started at the high school level. She played at Dartmouth High School for June Lach and Barry Haskell. Her college career was under the coaching staff of Marilyn Ritz and Joan Alison at then Southeastern Massachusetts University, a predecessor of UMass Dartmouth. She was the team captain during her junior and senior seasons. She received the team Most Valuable Player award following her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. She was awarded National All-American honors following her junior year and she was a Regional All-America selection after her senior season.

Her most outstanding career award was her induction into the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Hall of Fame in 1997.
