MEDFORD, MA-Host Tufts took a 5-0 halftime lead and went on to defeat the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's field hockey team, 6-0, in a non- conference match at Bello Field Wednesday evening.
Lia Sagerman put the ninth-ranked Jumbos on top with the first of her three goals at the 4:56 mark. Kelsey Perkins made it 2-0 at 9:32, and then Lindsay Griffith, who assisted on Perkins' goal, scored for the Jumbos one minute and 19 seconds later. Perkins made it 4-0 at 22:53. Sagerman scored her second goal of the game with 1:02 left in the first half and scored again 26 seconds after the second half started.

Tufts out shot UMass Dartmouth, 42-9. Sophomore goalkeeper Kelsey Gallo (East Greenwich, RI/East Greenwich HS) played the first half and made 13 saves, while O'Brien made six saves in the second half. Mariana Zak and Katie Stuntz combined for three saves for Tufts.
The Corsairs dropped to 3-3 with the defeat, while the Jumbos improved to 3-1 with the victory. UMass Dartmouth will return to action when they visit Western Connecticut State on Saturday.
