NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA- Sophomore Eleanor Taylor (Fairhaven, MA/Bishop Stang) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's field hockey team has earned another honor.
Taylor, who was recently named Little East Conference Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week, has also been named Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II New England Offensive Player of the Week.
In three games last week, Taylor scored nine goals and added two assists for 20 points. She scored all four goals in a come-from-behind 4-3 victory at Clark last Tuesday night, including the winning goal in overtime. She scored twice against Wheaton last Thursday night in a 6-1 win, and then scored three times in UMD's 4-1 win against Bridgewater State last Saturday in their 2010 LEC opener.
"Eleanor is a coach's dream, she deserves every honor she gets," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Nicole Castonguay. "She is a very hard worker who came here to play field hockey and get a great education. She is 120 per cent into everything she does both practice wise and game wise. Eleanor has the respect of everyone on the team, she leads by example, and she is helping to bring our program to a different level."
The Corsairs are 3-2 and will return to action when they host Plymouth State in a Little East Conference match on Saturday.
