Oct. 20, 2009

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-For the second consecutive week, freshman forward Eleanor Taylor (Fairhaven, MA/Bishop Stang HS) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's field hockey team has been honored by the Little East Conference.

Once again, Taylor has been named LEC Rookie Player of the Week.

Taylor helped the Corsairs win their sixth consecutive LEC match last week, scoring twice as UMass Dartmouth came from behind to defeat Southern Maine, 2-1. The game-winning goal was her fourth of the season.

"I am very happy that the LEC recognized Eleanor's talent and hard work," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Nicole Castonguay. "She has a true passion for this sport, and gives 110 per cent every time she steps onto the field, both for practice and for games. She is very deserving of this honor."

The Corsairs are 9-5, 7-1 in LEC play. They will return to action when they host Trinity Wednesday evening. UMASS DARTMOUTH FIELD HOCKEY
