SCOTTSDALE, AZ-Two members of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's field hockey team have received All-Region honors.

Junior forward Eleanor Taylor (Fairhaven, MA/Bishop Stang HS) and junior defender Taryn Cardiel (Moorpark, CA/Moorpark HS) were named to the second team Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association NCAA Division II all-stars in the All-New England West Region.

Taylor led the Corsairs in scoring with 20 goals and five assists for 45 points. Cardiel was third with five goals and six assists for 16 points while playing an integral role on defense.

"It's great to see us recognized within such a strong talent-filled region," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Nicole Castonguay. "Some of the best players in the nation are honored within this region, so after a challenging season for UMD, we are glad that two of our conference's top talents are recognized today."

The Corsairs finished 10-10 this season and advanced to the semi-finals of the Little East Conference Tournament.
