Colleen Kane Wins LEC Women's Lacrosse Rookie Honors
NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA – Freshman attacker Colleen Kane (Arlington, MA/Arlington) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's lacrosse team has been honored by the Little East Conference.
Kane has been named LEC Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week.
Kane tied for the lead in scoring for the Corsairs last week, scoring 11 goals and adding four assists for 15 points as UMass Dartmouth went 1-2.
She scored six goals in last Thursday's win against Wheelock, after scoring four times in a one-goal loss to Worcester State on Tuesday.
"Colleen is a big threat because of her shooting, her performance on the draw and her ability to win 50/50 possessions all over the field," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Sarah Booker. "She has a solid understanding of our offensive style and she combines well with the other attack players. These attributes will help us against a challenging LEC schedule this season."
UMass Dartmouth will return to action Wednesday when they visit Salem State.
