Campus Closed, Athletic Activities Adjusted

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-Several athletics activities at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth have been impacted by the closing of the campus due to the events last night and early this morning in the Boston area connected with the bombing of the Boston Marathon on Monday.

The campus will be closed again Saturday.

Little East Conference baseball and softball doubleheaders against Western Connecticut State have been postponed, and rescheduled for Sunday. The men's tennis match against Southern Maine, scheduled for Saturday, has also been postponed until Sunday at 12:30 p.m. Since they are playing WCSU Sunday, baseball will not be traveling to Westfield State on that date.

Men's and women's lacrosse at Keene State have been postponed from Saturday to Sunday. The women's game will be at 1:00 p.m. and the men's game at 3:00 p.m. Track will not attend the Silfen Invitational at Connecticut College, and sailing will not attend the Southern Series Four at Salve Regina.

The 2013 Ring Road Race for Champions, scheduled for Sunday morning, has been cancelled. The men's and women's soccer alumni event, scheduled for Saturday at 1:00 and 3:00 at Cressy Field, has also been cancelled. The alumni event planned for swimming that was scheduled for Saturday has also been cancelled.
