Women's Lacrosse to Support HEADStrong Foundation, Hold Senior Day
NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA –Saturday is Senior Day for the UMass Dartmouth women's lacrosse team, and, in addition to honoring five seniors, they have a couple of fund-raising events planned.
The Corsairs will sponsor a luminaria event to benefit the HEADstrong Foundation, which is a lacrosse-affiliated foundation in support of blood cancer research and cures. The event is scheduled from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the UMD amphitheater on Friday, April 26th. Anyone can buy a white paper bag and decorate it memory or support of a loved one. Sand will then be poured in the bag and a tea candle will be added, and the lantern can be placed on the steps of the amphitheater .Everyone in the UMass Dartmouth community to come support this cause by buying a lantern. Saturday's game against Southern Maine follows the men's game against Plymouth State, and begins at 4:00 p.m. at Cressy Field. The Corsairs will wear lime green in support of the HEADstrong Foundation.
Five seniors will be honored prior to the game. They are goalkeeper Angelina Donovan (Medford, MA/Medford HS), attacker Brittney Enos (East Falmouth, MA/Falmouth HS), midfielders Denise Gates (Feeding Hills, MA/Agawam HS) and Devan DePhillips (Basking Ridge, NJ/Hunterdon Central), and defender Selina Houghton (Billerica, MA/Shawsheen HS).
