Sarah Booker is in her third season as the Head Coach of the women's lacrosse team at UMass Dartmouth. Last season (2013) her team posted a 7-9 record, the highest since 2008 season. She has coached three all-conference selections, as well as the 2013 Little East Conference rookie of the year (Colleen Kane). Over the past two seasons her teams have been honored by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association for their stellar academic performances.
Booker, who was an assistant at Wheaton for three years, succeeded longtime Head Coach Jerry Jennings, who stepped down to take over UMass Dartmouth's new sailing program. She served as the Lyons' defensive coach and academic advisor under Head Coach Emily Kiablick.
A native of Lexington, MA and a 2005 graduate of the University of Vermont, Booker played lacrosse, soccer and hockey at Buckingham, Browne and Nichols School, twice serving as team captain. She starred as a midfielder at UVM, earning All-Conference honors in the America East Conference in 2003 and 2004, twice serving as team captain, and scoring 42 goals and adding 19 assists in 58 games. She led the Catamounts at least once in ground balls, draw controls and caused turnovers, and was named to the All-Championship Team in 2002. Named the team's Best defender in the same season, Booker earned the Coaches' Award as a senior.
Prior to attending Vermont, Booker was an assistant coach of the Buckingham Browne and Nichols middle school girls' lacrosse team, and a member of the administrative team at Camp Aloha Hive in Fairlee, VT from 1999 through 2006.
