KANSAS CITY, KS – A member of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's soccer team has earned post-season All-Region honors.
Junior goalkeeper Krista Chauvin (Seekonk, MA/Seekonk HS) was named third team All-New England Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. .
Chauvin played every minute in goal and posted a 0.84 goals against She made 103 saves for a percentage of .866, and posted a league-leading 11 shutouts in 18 games. She ranked second in both saves and save percentage and was third in goals-against average.
"Krista was one of the backbones of our back line," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Nicole Hanewich. "Krista's outstanding shot stopping ability set her apart from other goalkeepers in our division. In each game, she made at least one "wow" save that you wouldn't expect a keeper to make at this level."
The Corsairs posted an 11-5-2 record this season, their best mark since the inception of the Little East Conference.
