BOSTON – Two goals by the home Beacons in the opening 10 minutes later doubled in the second half, as UMass Boston wrapped up a 4-0 shutout of the visiting University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics
Score: UMass Boston 4, UMass Dartmouth 0
Records: UMass Boston (4-8-2, 3-1-1 LEC) | UMass Dartmouth (4-11-1, 2-3-0 LEC)

How It Happened
It took just two minutes for UMass Boston to jump on the scoreboard, when junior Jaclyn O'Grady (Somers, Conn.) passed to a sprinting Taylor Bilyak (Willington, Conn.), who found the goal on the far post. Moments later, a breakaway by Jessi Beverlin (Eagle River, Alas.) gave the hosts the quick 2-0 advantage in the ninth minute.

UMass Dartmouth footed several good chances in the next three minutes of play, forcing three saves by Beacon keeper Alyssa Fugiel (Easthampton, Mass.), but again it was the hosts who converted next. Katy Clark (Scituate, Mass.) put the stamp on a 3-0 half for UMass Boston with her goal in the 44th minute off a Beacon free kick.

The hosts completed their four-goal day quickly out of the halftime break, this time with Kate Leavitt (Plymouth, Mass.) heading in the Carly Robinson (Pittsfield, Mass.) corner. The Corsairs saw their best second-half chance in the 66th minute, when sophomore Jaimie Nakamura (Aiea, Hawaii) saw a one-on-one with UMass Boston keeper Jessie Tenaglia (Braintree, Mass.), but the goalie made the stop.

Inside the Numbers
