UMass Dartmouth senior back Maddie McGee-Cochran and sophomore goalkeeper Jaimee O’Brien were named on Monday afternoon as the respective Little East Conference Women’s Soccer Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week for their efforts in a pair of Corsair victories over the weekend.
McGee-Cochran, a native of Lunenburg, Mass. and a graduate of Lunenburg High School, led Head Coach Elise Cloutier’s backfield corps that allowed just eight shots on goal combined in a pair of 2-0 shutout triumphs, the first over Fredonia last Friday afternoon at Cressy Field and the second at Albertus Magnus yesterday.
O’Brien, a native of West Springfield, Mass. and a graduate of West Springfield High School, recorded her second and third career clean sheets over the weekend, as she made three stops against Fredonia and five saves at Albertus Magnus.
UMass Dartmouth, which is off to its best start in seven years, continues a three-match road swing on Thursday evening when the Corsairs travel to Bridgewater State for a non-league clash that begins at 7:00 pm EDT.
