Women's Soccer Picked Seventh in Little East

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's soccer team has been picked to finish seventh in the annual Little East Conference pre-season poll.
The Corsairs received 20 points in the poll, one point ahead of eighth-place Rhode Island College.
Eastern Connecticut State and Keene State tied for first in the poll, with each team receiving 58 points. Western Connecticut State was third with 49 points. The Colonials were followed by UMass Boston, Southern Maine and Plymouth State.
"We are in a very competitive conference, with a lot of quality teams," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Nicole Hanewich. "Anyone can beat anyone, and anyone can win the championship. I'm looking forward to beginning the season."
The Corsairs finished 6-12-1 overall and 2-5 in LEC play last year, advancing to the LEC Tournament. UMass Dartmouth will begin their 2010 schedule at Endicott Saturday, September 4th.
