NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-Sophomore forward Erica Jonasson (Wrentham, MA/Tri-County HS) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's soccer team has been honored by the Little east Conference.
Jonasson has been named LEC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. She's the second UMD player to be honored this season, and it marked the first time Jonasson had won the Player of the Week award.
Jonasson scored three goals for six points last week as the Corsairs defeated Mitchell and Rhode island College. She scored twice against the Anchorwomen and scored her third game-winning goal of the season. She leads UMass Dartmouth with 10 goals and one assist for 21 points.
"Erica has worked very hard this year," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Nicole Hanewich. "She always stays after practice, watches film, and puts in the extra effort. She scored over 100 goals in high school. This year, she is taking advantage of her opportunities, and putting the ball in the net. She has scored a lot of goals in big games for us this year."
UMass Dartmouth is 7-4 and 2-1 in the Little East Conference. The Corsairs will return to action when they host Bridgewater State Tuesday.
