Oct. 21, 2010

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's soccer team will participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month when they stage Breast Cancer Day Saturday. The Corsairs will host Eastern Connecticut State Saturday at 1:00 p.m. It will also be Senior Day, and UMD will honor their six graduating seniors.

The team's motto for the day is "Play 4 Pink," and they will accept donations for breast cancer research at the game. The team will wear pink shirts during their warm up period that say "Play for the Cure."

"It is breast cancer awareness month, and we'd like to raise money for breast cancer research and incorporate our team," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Nicole Hanewich. "We're looking forward to raising some money, and honoring our seniors."

Saturday's match will be the final home match of the season for the UMass Dartmouth women's soccer team.
