Lyon pitcher Danielle Cimino (Cumberland, Maine) yielded just one Corsair hit in the first game, striking out four and received a two-run homer by Mary DeMoura (Boston, Mass.) in the fifth as Wheaton picked up the shutout in the opener.
Junior Hannah Smith (Attleboro, Mass.) allowed just two hits through the first four frames as the game remained scoreless. With two outs in the fifth and a runner on first, DeMoura sent a ball over the left-center fence to break the game open.
Wheaton added another run off the bat of Cimino in the sixth, as she dropped an RBI double before sitting the first three UMass Dartmouth batters in the top of the seventh.
Freshman Nicole McSweeney (Bridgewater, Mass.) posted the lone Corsair hit, singling to lead off the fourth. Smith went the distance, with all three runs earned on five hits with a pair of strikeouts.

The Corsair bats rebounded in a big way in the second contest, as freshman Brittany Polk (Bridgewater, Mass.) put the visitors on the board in the first to give pitcher Victoria Woodward (Middleboro, Mass.) room to work in the complete game.
Woodward allowed just six Lyon hits and one earned run, picking up a strikeout en route to her third win on the season. Senior Marissa Spinuzzi (Fair Lawn, N.J.) drove out her second homerun of the season as part of a 2-for-3 game, with junior Emily Colton (Kingston, Mass.) also going 2-for-3 at the dish.
In the first, Polk drove a two-RBI double to right center with two outs, rounding Spinuzzi and Colton, who reached on a single. The Lyons struck back to halve the lead in the second when DeMoura connected for an RBI single.
Spinuzzi wrapped up UMass Dartmouth's scoring in the fourth, knocking out her homer to lead off the fourth. Wheaton cut within a run in the fifth, but Woodward held strong to keep the Lyons off the bases in the sixth and seventh.
