Women's Swimming and Diving Suffer Second Loss of Season

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth wome n's swimming and diving team suffered their second loss of the season to the University of New England on Saturday afternoon at the Natatorium.

UMass Dartmouth fell to New England 162-126 and dropped to an overall record of 0-2 on the year.

Corsair senior Katelyn Kidney (Lynn, Mass.) posted first place times of 2:21.90 and 1:00.34 in the 200 butterfly and the 100 freestyle events. Freshman Kayla Flanagan (Farihaven, Mass.) was the top finisher in the 100 and 200 yard backstroke with finishes of 1:04.42 and 2:22.92.  

Kidney and Flanagan teamed with Lindsay Days (Mattapoisett, Mass.) and Yulssa Diaz (Dorchester, Mass.) to capture first place in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:02.15.    

For diving, Kendra Hebert took first place in the one meter with a score of 191.40, as well as the three meter with a score of 166.72.

The next meet for UMass Dartmouth is on Tuesday at 6 p.m. when the team travels to Bridgewater State.
