Flanagan and Hebert Earn LEC Rookie Awards

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Freshman Kaya Flanagan (Fairhaven, Mass.) and Kendra Hebert (Lowell, Mass.) were acknowledged by the Little East Conference for their impressive performances over this past weekend.

Flanagan earned her first LEC Rookie Swimmer of the Week award this season after she won three individual races this past week against Gordon College and Little East rival Eastern Connecticut.  The native of Fairhaven, Mass. was a double-winner against the Fighting Scots, capturing the 100-yard backstroke (1:04.96) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:23.65). In a dual-meet at the Warriors, Flanagan placed first in the 50-yard butterfly, when she touched the wall at 29.36 seconds.

Hebert  has been selected LEC Rookie Diver of the Week four times this season and now can add LEC Diver of the Week to her accolades. The Lowell, Mass. product swept both events in the diving well this past week in a dual meet against Gordon College.  She took top honors in the 1-meter (191.03) and 3-meter (207.98) platforms.

The Corsairs return to the pool on Saturday when they host LEC opponent Plymouth State in a dual meet at 1 p.m.
